To address evolving requirements for VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), aldehyde, and ketone emissions analysis, Certech has strengthened the monitoring of critical parameters during the conditioning phase in micro-scale chambers. As a testing laboratory approved by major automotive OEMs, Certech is committed to ensuring reliable and state-of-the-art testing conditions.
The extraction and trapping of VOCs – particularly aldehydes and ketones – are highly dependent on the relative humidity of the extraction gas flow. Any instability in moisture levels can compromise test repeatability.
To optimize the qualification step of OEM components and ensure flawless monitoring of VOC emissions, we have finalized a technological upgrade to the microchamber testing bench. To ensure the precise control, the following analytical instrumentation have been integrated :
• Ultra-precise and stable flow Generation : this allows us to generate a perfectly stable and controlled carrier gas flow down to the exact dew point.
• Real-time monitoring : Installation of a specific probe at the outlet of the Vapor Delivery Module, delivering high-accuracy relative humidity measurements even under dynamic flow conditions.
It allows:
• Reliable emission testing with full compliance with OEM screening standards and international regulations.
• Faster time-to-market through reliable data that enables confident validation of the automotive materials.
Certech is active in the field of VOCs and odors for 40+ years and is a reference player in Belgium and at international level thanks to its position as active member in the standardization committees on air quality (CEN / TC264, ISO / TC146 / SC6, CEN / TC137, CEN / TC351).
