Certech contributes to research and innovation activities addressing environment-friendly technologies and allowing to support a sustainable economic development. These activities integrate the following topics:
- Recycling of plastics protection sleeves from used optical fibres, to achieve the production of new sleeves (material recycling).
- Conversion of the non-recyclable plastics which protect the optical fibres, into fuels or high added-value molecules, via pyrolysis or solvolysis reactions (chemical recycling techniques).
