In order to contribute to the market introduction of products meeting the new European regulatory requirements for the manufacture of super-hydrophobic and oleophobic textile coatings, Certech is developing formulations free of C8 fluorocarbon compounds and silver-derived biocides.
Our research and development project addresses the following topics:
- Development of new formulations from particles with complex morphology
- Characterization of liquid formulations by particle size distribution measurement and zeta potential (stability evaluation)
- Applications to fabrics by impregnation or spray
- Textile coatings properties characterization by scanning electron microscopy, measurement of the contact angle of a drop of water (hydrophobicity) or oil (oleophobicity), measurement of surface roughness by contactless profilometry and accelerated ageing under UV
