Certech is involved in the CO2DISRUPT project which aims to develop a disruptive technology specifically dedicated to the industrial fumes with low CO2 levels (<15%).
The process is developed by the start-up ARK Capture Solutions and ambitions to offer an economically viable solution for fumes with low concentration of CO2 (4-15%). It includes 3 different technologies: adsorption, membrane separation and cryogenics, working in synergy.
The consortium brings together 6 partners: ARK Capture Solutions, initiator of the project, 3 Walloon industrials: Aperam, Cinergie and Industeel and 2 research partners: Certech and UMons.
For this project, Certech relies on its expertise in :
- Characterization and purification of industrial gaseous effluents
- Adsorbents evaluation at laboratory scale and study of contaminants influence
- Process intensification
Certech’s expertise will be leveraged to validate the performance of the different stages of the process, from the laboratory scale up to the industrial pilot.
Certech’s know-how in micro- and mesoporous materials will support the selection of the various adsorbents and assess the impact of potential poisons present in the effluents, which could adversely affect the overall performance of the process.
